Long overdue upgrade

Hi All,

I'm finally considering upgrading my main PC detailed in my signature, mainly because I'm ripping and encoding DVD and Bluray movies.

I also game, but only at 1920x1200 resolution.

I'm looking at the Intel 4770k CPU and overclocking it to some degree, but I'm unsure on what GPU to upgrade to (if at all).

Anyone recommend a suitable CPU, motherboard, memory and GPU combination given a rough £1k budget?

Do you think it's worth hanging on for the Haswell-E or looking for a second hand SandyBridge-E setup considering there's little difference between that and the Ivybridge?

I've also seen quite a few Intel Xeon QE5F ES processors on auction sites. Worth a look?

Intel Xeon are non-overclockable I think, do you want to overclock?

I have overclocked in the past, and would again to a reasonable level to get some performance gains.

Okay, well Xeon isn't the way to go then. Doomed's spec looks good, getting an extreme i7 for that price you're looking at. You could probably spend a bit more on a better motherboard if you wanted.
