long range wireless mouce&keyboard

Right, let me explain: I am a teacher and Im after a mouse and/or a keyboard that I can pass around my classroom for pupils to be able to interact with my laptop with. The problem is that the back of my room is about 10m away from my laptop, so I am after suggestions on how I can reach that far back with a mouse/keyboard.

Even if the range is 5m it is a start, so what can you come up with? Im stuck for ideas and need help!

the very first wireless keyboard I looked at on the shop page says it has a 10m range:

Yeah, I did read that one, however I have had 10m 2.4GHz stuff before (a wireless powerpoint controller) and it does 5m (just) with fresh batteries, so I dont want to be stung with an item that doesn't do as described. Does anybody own one of these and can say how far it reaches?

what about getting a usb extension lead and locating the receiver in the middle of the room?
