Long Shot: Avocent Autoview 1000R - Password

Guys,

We've got an old Avocent Autoview 1000R KVM switch which has a password preventing access via serial cable but the previous team of infrastructure guys failed to note the password on it.

I've had a good but am unable to reset this password or even reset the device to factory defaults to allow us to set it up from scratch. Has anyone got any experience doing this, and if so, can you point me in the right direction on how to sort this please.

Hmm the user manual says this, but might be worth giving their support a ring.

NOTE: If you should lose or forget your password, you will need to return your switch to have it reset to the factory default settings. See Appendix F: Technical Support for contact information.
