Long Shot

Hacked, probably. Good idea? Absolutely not. You'd have to take into account the space for other components aside from the logic board. It would be far too difficult to manage.

Ahh well worth a punt but maybe not :P So not I have a duff logic board in a 2007 Pro and a G4 which I'm not sure of... Building a nice collection of duffs haha!

If the machine was purchased by yourself new, or you are in contact with the seller who is willing to help resolve the issue, you should be able to get the problem sorted through the Sales of Goods Act, provided that you know the retailer and, ideally have the receipt or some other proof of purchase.

Unfortunately no, I think I maybe the 4th person with this Pro, its out of warranty and the replacement board issue that was being replaced by Apple ceased as far as I know 1-2 years ago. I was given it for nothing to see if I could get it going... I may still at some point if I find one knocking around.

The G4 however should be good to go with a PSU, HDD and a copy of some form of OS, anyone reckon OSx would run on it ok? Its the 1.6ghz 15inch model, only when I got it home at lunch did I realise it was a lot smaller than the 17 haha oops... no way the board will go :P
