...first time poster. Looking at taking the plunge on a gaming pc setup so this is what I have come up with so far

Was ideally looking to keep it under £1000 but with a a monitor I realise thats gonna be a problem. I could get a smaller moniter which is definitly summin I'll be trying out (will get some games on the other halfs mac which is a 21inch and see how I feel about using that).

What have I missed/could improve upon?
 
Thanks for the opinions. The external drive was me being an idiot. Good call on the SSD forgot to put that on my list. Had a look around and think this incorporates a lot of the ideas mentioned. The biggest problem I have is with the monitor. Im considering upping the budget slightly to get the monitor I want its back down to 24 but seems to be a great monitor or is it overkill? I think the base unit is pretty much sorted coming in at £1000 so its now down to how much to justify on a monitor.

I would struggle to justify spending that much on the monitor to be honest.

However if other monitors were going to be significantly worse then I would want to spend the extra since its that im going to be spending all my time looking at. I'm just not totally sure how much of a difference the monitor will make. I'm moving from console gaming on an older 37" 720p tv so im already wary of going to something so much smaller but I will be sat closer so that should offset the smaller size and increasing the resolution should help.

Ive spent most of the time looking into graphics card to be honest as that was the area I was struggling most with understanding.
 
Didnt really look at RW drives as I cant think of the last time I had to write anything to a disc but as that is the same price it wont do any harm to put in the machine.

I'll keep that PSU in mind as I dont think im planning on running dual graphics cards which if I did I assume I would need a PSU more like the one I have already chosen?
 
ok so I think I've taken everything into account. Kept the PSU incase I decide to go udal gpu in the future if i go multi monitor. Unlikely but you never know.

I went DVI because it means I can use the HDMI port on the monitor for my PS3 since PC's dont exactly get loads of JRPG's so I'll still need my PS3 for them.

EDIT: I dont need anything other than a screw driver to put all this together?
