hi all..

just updated pc,a8n-e,939-64/3500,1g pc3200,raptor 150g,x1900xt

kept hiper 425w which works fine.
after reinstalling windows, installing drivers etc it takes ages too boot up..i get the initial post screen then the windows xp screen then it goes blank(not off but blank)for approx 3-4 mins, any ideas please???

I had same problem with a friends laptop. It went blank for 14mins before finally booting. Turned out to be a faulty port replicator that was attached to it. Try unplugging any hardware connected to it. Once i disconnected it it booted as normal.

May or may not help, but run bootvis. Postmanfw's advice on disconnecting hardware would alao be a good place to start to see if its hardware related.

I find that my system takes longet to boot if my external drives are on ( CDRW and HDD ), also having a DVD in the internal drives slows things very slightly

my pc as all the original equipment attached as before..no external at all...the screen goes blank but a hmm..illuminated blank if you understand???

how would i run bootvis..i'll give it a try

many thanks all for answers
