Just got home from a 16 hour shift at Tesco. Admittedly it was overtime added on to my usual hours - 7am until 4pm with the overtime being 4pm until 11pm. This is working in the 'Dairy' section by the way.

So, what's the longest shift you've worked? Why did you do it? Where do you work? And most importantly, was it fun? :o

My feet ache. :(

38 hours I think when at BK. Might be a little longer when working in Bristol for ICL.

Both were purgatory.

I did 21 hours then went home for two hours sleep before going back in for another 12 hours (solicitor) - but that pales in comparison to some of the hours that people work at my firm when something big is happening!

Used to work cash in hand on a fairground, 9am till 1am (16 hours) 6 days a week - shocking hours and even worse pay, was a good laugh though :)

Errr, yeah...

Just wondered. Seems a hell of a long time. Must have been pretty horrendous. I used to work in a bakers and 8 hours was enough to kill me... can't imagine 38 hours of that sort of thing.

Probably about 10 hours, I'm not the type of person who does something I hate for longer than I have to.

I did 47 out of 48 hours whilst in the Royal Navy, having to concentrate on reports for the whole time as well, drove me MAD!!!

Old job
1. 08:00-01:00
2. important stock "write off" meeting as well as normal day.
3. this was in an old job
4. not fun at all.

New job
1. 07:00-21:00
2. Company open evening.
3. Cardinal Health UK
4. It was fun to meet some nice new people and give demonstrations of the work we do, plust we did get paid overtime for it, which was nice:).

It doesn't compare though to 1st May 06 - 31st December 06, I would have had only 14 days of work including weekends, I think my longest stint was working around 16 7 day weeks in a row.

Had a break-in about 10 mins after I left. I'd already worked all day but I went back and sorted stuff out, and because I'd covered an evening shift it was me on the open. So I worked from open to close, then through the night (not doing anything, just having to be present) and then worked the early shift.

I once helped refit a shop, from 8:30am Saturday (I worked in the Shop) to around midnight on the Monday morning. Back in work for 8:30am that day. I've been awake longer since but that was working flat out for the whole time.
