Is there any way to bypass windows mixer when using a asynchronous Usb Dac like a Nad £3020? Use to use VLC for headphone listening which allowed a volume output of up to 200 % but recent upgrade of the software in question bumped the volume back down to 125%

Edit: Just found somebody else complaining about it with a possible solution from a hidden setting here:

Tools -> Preferences (Show settings = All) -> Interface -> Main interfaces -> Qt Then at the very bottom of the right panel set the Maximum Volume option. Save, exit and restart VLC.

Still wondering if there is anything out there that excludes the window Mixer though?

If you download the driver for it, you can use WASAPI to bypass the windows mixer.
