Hi there

Just wait for the new Challenger, looks amazing and will be £25,000 - £35,000 on the road new. :)

Hemi Challenger

Nice. 426 Hemi, A833 Hemi 4spd manual 'box (Best. Gearbox. Ever.), shaker hood (hole in the hood with the aircleaner and scoop fixed to the carb poking though it, with the engine running the scoop shakes....looks really cool :)). Bet it takes off with 3.54 gears in the back :D

Could do without the wing though. The T/A style 'ducktail' one is better.

If you're getting a barracuda, it has to be a Hemi really :)

We-e-e-ell, that is an AAR 'Cuda. 340 small block it may be, but it does have the six-pack carb setup - three 2bbl carbs. Great engine, and the lower weight compared to a big block gives you a fighting chance of getting around the odd corner ;)

Hi there

Well my name is down, if the test drive is good then I may seriously be tempted. Its got the looks and noise, all that is worrying me is the handling as Dodge cars have never been so great for it, I mean look at the Viper its an awful handling car, or at least on our roads.

Yeh, but they can be modded. I expect they will put some effort into the challenger as the charger kind of flunked.

It'll handle okay with a few tweaks I'd imagine. It's a shortened version of the LX (Charger) platform, which means control arm front end, 5-link rear.

Bad idea. The company selling that car are the worst bunch of cowboys you'd ever come across. They're infamous in the Dodge Charger community for selling rusted out, bondo filled heaps with just enough paint on to hide the worst of it.

***edit***

Like this Charger though.

linky

A guy could build something great out of a base car like that....Arizona car, so no rust. Plenty of spares including a 440 motor. Win.

HI there

The 1800kg weight is very off putting though. I'm used to close to 350BHP per tonne with the Mustang, so the Dodge will need to have potential. :)

Have they comfirmed how heavy the final car will be yet? I know it'll be heavier than the Mustang, but the Charger weighs ~1800kg so I'd expect the Challenger to be a little lower than that.

Curb weight of the '06 Charger SRT8 (i.e. weight with all standard equipment, fluids and a full tank of fuel) is 4160lbs, I make that a bit over 1800kg. The Challenger will come up less than that. And even if it does turn out to be a bit heavier than you'd like - that's why on the 8th day God created Hemis :D

quote of the day :D

the challenger will be pretty awesome, circa 400hp I think? with potential for loads more and bucket loads of torque

supercharger kit + 5.7litre Hemi + Dodge Challenger = win
