I was going to be changing the fans on my akasa venom cpu cooler, and i noticed i couldn't due to the way their rubber mounts work, i would need to cut them off with a pair of scissors, making them useless.

i found these

why arent these more popular? i just ordered 2 packs, no need to mess around with screws and screwdrivers, you just thread them through and pull.

im going to use them on all my fans from now on.

case modders get onto the case (no pun intended ;) ) more people need to be aware of these, they also supposedly make your fans quieter and less rattle.

They're pretty common from what I can tell. My corsair cooler came with rubber mounts for the fan, as did all my Akasa fans. They're pretty good, I wouldn't say they're any less hassle to use than screws though especially if you're fitting the fan in a tight space. You have to be careful not to recoil your hand into something when the stopper pulls through the hole. Also make sure that the bit that protrudes doesn't interfere with any other fans in your case, I had to trim the ones on my side fan so they didn't block the graphics card cooler.

yeah just need to trim them if they are long, not exactly too much hassle, just a little snip.

i hate using my small screwdriver set, the handles are too small and i can get zero grip on them, i have to try so hard it rips my skin. i suppose bigger handled screwdrivers would help, but i dont think anyone makes them with the small heads.

im going to be using these from now on and just snipping them.

hate those rubber things with a passion, had some with some old case and a fan, knightmare to get on and off, much prefer screws now tbh

You don't need to cut them off, just stretch em out and pinch the cone end where it goes through the fan, being silicon they come off very easily.

I use those rubber pins exclusively now. Cheap and cheerful, and they do cut down on vibration. Im sending my case to get the internals powdercoated soon, (which is gonna cost a bit) therefore, the least amount of screws i need is better, less chance of marking the finish.
