Got a bit of a fright when I couldn't get it to work at first but a bios flash later and I'm good to go.

Time to see what it can do on air.

It was £178 including delivery from some guy in Taiwan plus about 20 bucks for a failed Escrow transaction. I wouldn't normally take the risk but he offered Escrow and sent the CPU before I gave him any cash.

Ended up not using Escrow and I still haven't paid him anything. Good job for him I'm honest.

Played with it for 1/2 hour and...

Not gonna push it any further till the rest of my watercooling arrives. I've got a Thermochill PA160 and a D5 pump but I'm waiting on a Storm CPU block and Silverprop GPU block. I wish they'd hurry the hell up!!!

Very nice. But is that stable? Any benchies? tbh, that could be a suicide shot but its still very good achievement if it is though.

Cant wait to see if it goes any further. Some shots of Super PI and Prime would be helpfull though...

Don't know if that's stable or not I was just messing around to see roughly what I could hit before I had to think about things too much. I'm gonna test it for real at the weekend and run some benches.

I'll post some results on sunday night...probably.

I'm putting it away till I get my storm waterblock as I can't get the freezer 64 to make good enough contact on it. Too risky by far.

The Claw lives again!!!

They don't have a IHS so are lower profile and you may need to mod your socket to attach a heatsink that isn't screw down.

Also although the memory controller on the chip can handle 2gb of ram it's difficult to achieve stable settings with an fsb over around 230.

With only 1gb of ram installed I've seen people posting cpu-z screens with fsb's over 280 and clock speeds of around 3.3ghz but whether these are stable or not (8hrs+ of prime 95 blend) I don't know.

Many people are running at 3.2ghz unstable without any issues but I don't like running a potentially unstable system so I'm currently at 2.9ghz using my 2gb ram.

I'll get the magic 3.0ghz eventually. ;)

Edited due to remedial spelling errors
