Looking at a gaming laptop

I assume M1X is the M1 MAX? If so, that's not even close to £1800, the M1 pro is £2399 in 16 inch and £1899 for 14 inch (8c/14c) or £2399 for (10c/16c)

Extra £5/£700 each for the MAX chips.

Absolute bargain to upgrade ram to 64gb for £400 and 1TB NVME for £200 :cry:

Yes going to completely change the market at those prices. Bare in mind nothing is user upgradeable either or repairable or serviceable.

Must be on crack to think gamers will be opting for this over a gigabyte g5 which costs 1/3rd of the price. Has capacity for 3 SSD, ram can be upgraded on your own, same with anything else like WiFi chips, etc.

Spending £3k on an apple laptop seems like a great deal... Not.

I just watched a YouTube review. Half the screen is missing there is a massive notch at the top like 2 inches wide and a cm down. Possibly larger.

You then also have the fact not many games run on Mac OS.

I cannot see anyone buying this as a direct replacement for a gaming laptop.

It has absolutely nothing going for it other than its slim. I'm pretty sure I could get a top of the line razer for this kind of money anyway which would absolutely smoke it in terms of specs and gaming capabilities. Only con on that would likley be battery power but I'm sure you could always get a portable charger for it if need be and still have money leftover from not buying apple.

Seriously how anyone could think this was the future of gaming must be a complete apple fanboy.

People buy based off the hardware and the better the hardware the more you sell. Apple will take sales away from the gaming laptop market slice of the market. The M1 was always going to be descriptive to PC’s.

I’m not sure what site you’re finding the M1 max for £5k link?

I’d sit tight OP. The gaming laptop has been a weak area of the industry for sometime and Apple will force improvements and lower prices especially as we head towards Christmas.

It was said in jest but after a couple of upgrades it's closer to £5k than your supposed £1800.

It won't be taking a slice away from anything only apple fanboys will be buying.

I can post screenshots if you are struggling to find the official website

Apple have said they want to disrupt the laptop market and move it into modern times. Looks like they have delivered on that.

I know everyone is expecting great things from AMD Rembrandt APU’s but I think it will be a while before AMD can offer 16 cores and this level of graphics around 40 watts.

People buy gaming laptops to play games.

More mind numbing nonsense.

That doesn't mean anything though if I can buy a razer laptop for half the price with 10 times the graphics performance

Or infinite more performance in most big titles as you can't even run them on an M1 Mac (but Jigger doesn't see that as a problem right? Everything's cool in Jigger world).
