Looking at a laptop upgrade

Currently using a Dell Studio 1749, it's working well but is struggling with some games and is probably getting on a bit.

Can't remember when I got it, but it looks like the model is a 2010 version, so will be about 4 years old now.

Looking to make sure an upgrade is worthwhile really. Would 600-800 (bearing in mind this cost 600 ish) be enough to get a noticeable increase in performance?

Intel Core i5-520M 2.4 GHz
Intel HM55
4096 MB, DDR3 SDRAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 - 1024 MB

Is that the basic inboard graphics card? If so then you could get a good upgrade for that price, I'm getting an alienware m14, currently have an alienware m15 if your interested on that?

Sell it and get a new one. There's absolutely no point spending that kinda money when your upgrade path will be severely limited in the first place.
