Looking at Crossfire 5770

1st of all Hi! 

Now I just brought one of the Titan Kypts off of overclockers I am enjoying the machine and seems to run everything fine.

I don’t really know much about PC’s but I am interested in setting up Crossfire, my questions:

1 – Can this machine support Crossfire? I ask because eI had a look at the motherboard and I take it you need 2 of the same slots to put the cards in and Overclockers website states the motherboard has the following:

Expasion slots: 1x PCIe 2.0 x16 Slot, 1x PCIe x1 Slot & 2x PCI Slots

Which Slots are the graphics cards going in I don’t really understand all the 2.0 x 16 and the x1.


2 – Is it rather easy to set up: as in do I simply put the 2nd card under the 1st connect the power and the bridge then boot up the machine – I don’t need to mess around with bios or anything?


If I could get any help that would be great because If I can do this I might put my order in today.

The card(s) would need to be in the PCIe 2.0 slot and you only have one on that board so the short answer is no you cant crossfire.

The motherboard does not support xfire, your best bet is to sell the 5770 and get a 5850/5870 in the next 2 months as 6 series ATI cards are due, lots people will be trying to get rid of their 6 month old cards in favour of new shiney ones
