I've been thinking about getting a better router. I'm in a 6 person house at the moment and the connection can be a bit hit and miss when everyone is there. We actually get to the point where we have disconnect things from the wireless to let something else connect.

I'm not really that clued up on network jargon. I've been looking at the new Asus models, what are the key differences between the RT-N66U and the RT-N56U? Would you suggest something else?

We do a lot of media streaming between PCs and the PS3 in the living room, a lot of downloading, play a lot of games and have a lot of devices connected. I'd also like a good QoS engine.

On the other hand this is a student situation so I'm only going to be there 2 more months and there will only be 3 of us next year so would such an investment even be worth while?

Thanks.

I would recommend the N56U with only the three of you next year it would suit you all fine i would imagine. I have been using this router on and off for the last 6 months or so and have never had any issues with it. Although most of my connections to it our wired I do have serveral phones connected to it and sometimes friends visit and they are always connecting up no problem I can easy stream content from my phone to the TV and back again when I need to. I think the N66 would be a little overkill for your needs after the next two months so would plump for the N56 i dont think you will be disapointed.
