Looking at getting a new rig

Hi all.

im here to see if there are any pointers that you could give me in the way of what bit to get and where to get them..

im looking at building a new rig on a budget of £500.
it will be mainly used for gaming but am going to be starting some video editing in the very near future..

i already have a nice widescreen monitor and a Ati 5750 1gb graphics card. so it is prety much all the other stuff im looking at getting

thankyou for the quick reply stulid xD these 2 lists will come in handy thankyou. is there any gain on a SSD over the standard Sata drives?

a SSD is much faster, install windows and most used programs onto it, and loading times/boot up times tumble.

i will keep that in mind. will probably go for a 64gbSSD and 1TB Sata drive

oh one more thing. are the stock coolers that come with the amd phenom ii processors any good or would i be looking at upgrading to something else? and in the way of case fans would you recomend any that dont break the bank but work a treat?

They do the job, made of copper, and allow small overclocks( say about an extra 300-400mhz).

you can always add a better cooler later on, without having to remove the motherboard as the case motherboard tray has a large cut out so you can easily get access to the rear.
