looking at getting into photography.. camera choice.

Hi guys I’m looking at getting into photography I’ve always had an interest in photos.

I was thinking of going for the fujifilm xt2 with the bundled 18-55 lens currently going for £950

I also would like something that is capable down the line to also do some part time professional work which could be like baby shower/portraits modelling fashion photos.

My interest of photos I am into is street and portraits and fashion related.

Is the camera I’ve chose a good choice for these needs or is there something better for the money that i should be looking at?

Cameras are whatever tbh, but yes its a capable camera.
The glass you attach to it is going to make the differences though. Kit lens are generally a bit crap for seasoned photographers but fine if your just starting out.

Slow down, by the time you got your craft down for paid work there will be XT-4 by then. But yes, the XT2 is a capable camera for all of the above. You will need better lenses than the 18-55 though.

The 18-55 is ok by all accounts. Fuji kit lenses are largely decent.

Fuji 18-55 is sharp enough between about 18-35 above that it gets softer. If you want a lens for portraits specifically i would probably look at one of the primes in the future.

Kit lenses get a bad rep (justified in a lot of cases) but the Fuji 18-55 is good, yes down the line you might want to upgrade to their better glass but it's a good lens. Wish I had never sold mine actually.
