Looking at Leasing

Hi all,

I cant find a car I want within budget, I was originally looking at a budget of £8k, this was from my parents but unfortunately they need to drop this to £5k which plus my trade in gives me around £6/7K

I work 5 miles from home and want a 5 door hatch, anything Mondeo size wont fit on the drive, Focus size or below is fine.

I really cant find anything in budget and the thought of buying another used car that I'll need to spend money on is putting me off, over the last few years I've lost quite a bit on cars when I add it up and made some bad mistakes, a Mazda 6 that I hated, a Celica that I bought in heavy rain and was never happy with the body work, I really want something for between £150 to £200 absolute max a month that I can enjoy driving and forget about. Something like the Pulsar 1.6 DIG-T which I really like the look of.

I only work 5 miles from home, I don't need anything over 200BHP but I love driving and want to enjoy it when the opportunity presents itself so something like the Pulsar is ideal, the thing is, I'm rubbish at maths, I'll admit it. I'll quite easily get myself into the wrong deal and haven't used finance for anything in a very long time, also, all I have for a contribution is my current car.

Can anyone offer advice on what to do? Mileage allowance can be low and I'm happy with between 3 and 5 years as long as its under warranty, the main thing is the only outgoing is the monthly payment, insurance and tyres as if its not worth adding tyres to a deal due to low mileage.

Thanks

You only just missed out on the 208 GTi deal that was doing the rounds... £146 deposit + £146 per month for 2 years.

It was priced incorrectly but 200ish got honoured. Price is now £201 (1+23) so not that great a deal anymore.

One thing to take into consideration is that you can't part ex your current car against a lease.

Yeah I looked at those and I like them but the 1.2 TSI is just too sensible. If it had a bit more power and therefore a bit quicker I would definitely be interested in one

Dacia Sandero? Should easily be in budget. But will likely be slow and not well specced. But it will be cheap motoring, and in budget, and new, so warranty etc...
