Looking at Mac Book Pro Retina

Yeah, all the other models are extremely expensive without the high res screen.
My one ASUS Q501LA is made from mostly aluminum as well by the way. PRactically no flex and typing is a breeze.
If you bump the price up as well, you do get a dedicated Nvidia card, but I have no clue what it is, since I never researched into it.

argh, tempted with the sony again

Teachers get 7% discount, plus they are doing free 256gb ssd upgrade and free battery dock

fully loaded comes to a shade over £900 inc VAT

Wait, if by "fully loaded" you mean the specs you listed about 2 posts ago, id snap that up......
If only it was 15". Even id have bought the Sony instead of the ASUS I have now.

No nVIDIA 7xx?
My current is 15" 1080p IPS Touch, i5 Haswell, 12GB RAM, 750GB HDD and backlit keyboard for £600 excl tax and shipping.
Also has superb sound for its form factor

Will be interesting to see what GPU the 13" gets. Wonder if they'll stick with the HD5000 from the Air, or move up to the GT3e.

I'm guessing the Iris 5100 for the MBP. Iris 5200 looks to be a desktop part going on the TDP measurements for the various chips.

well after wasting far too much time researching these, ive ordered the sony and the new mac air. Will send one back after a week.

A few friends of mine have the MBA and I must say, it is quite a machine but only when using Mac OS X. The battery life they can attain is unbelievable, 16 hours was done while browsing the web over 2 days!

I think it's fair to assume that the new MacBook Pro Retina will have Thunderbolt 2, but I really hope it also comes with HDMI 2.0 and LTE mobile broadband.
