Looking at New GPU but which one???

Hmm tough one. 7970 for a single card or slightly over budget 2x 7950

They were £185 a piece the other day with 3 free games a piece I just sold my amd game bundle for £26 quid so you could really get £50 back for both 2x£185 -£50 £280 just a tad over budget :)

AMD right now are the winner on performance for a given price - however it's worth mentioning that nVidia are meant to be doing some price cuts soon, probably as a response to the r9 290x. There was a thread around somewhere. With no details about what is getting cheaper and by how much I'd pick an AMD card for sure just now, but if you're not in a hurry you could wait and find out...

Having said all that sometimes you can find an nVidia card on a cracking offer, making it comparable - especially with the older gen branding e.g. a 680 instead of a 770 or whatever.. Also if you have a brand loyalty then it may be worth the extra to get the one you want :)
