Basically, because im cheap im on a micro Mobo, so SLI is out of the question.

I have a GTX460 at the below specs, and it struggles a bit at max now (on some games anyway), and want something that will rip through most current games with ease.

What should I be spending my money on? Or is it worth spending the money now to go to a full size mobo and future proof to SLI?

I would prefer NVidia, but if I really do get much more for the money id go ATI.

hmmm if the specs are what you have in your system - thats no slouch. Better then mine atm.

I run a q6600 only at 2.7~ and have a 5770 ati and upping to a 6970.

IMO I would forget the fullsize MB atm and just get a new vid card. 6950s arnt bad in price.
I really dont know how the 460 compares to the 6950 thou - I just know the 6950 can run stuff decently.

Got a lot of new stuff coming out soon new GPUs and new AMD and intel chips in the future - but thats months away and stuff takes a bit to reach the consumer and to drop in price (you know how places jack the price the first month~ they come out).

So ... IMO get a new GPU right now like the 6950 or if you want NVDA maybe the 560ti but I think thats pretty close to your 460 or if you really want grab the 570 I think the OC has on preorder sale (Seems like a great card).

+1 for a 6950, the performance gains over a 460 won't be mindblowing, but they will still be noticeable, Some bench scores:

But whats your budget? As dual cards seem to be out of the question, you might find your self back here in 2 years asking which card to get next?

From the nvidia side of things (depending on budget) you could look towards the GTX480 (I think these are still going cheap-ish?) or a GTX570, both are excellent performers as single cards.

The only other thing im considering is dropping res/screen size.

Im gaming at full 1080p on a 32" LG TV, I can play crysis 2 on max with no DX11 or High res upgrades and im thinking if i drop the screen size id be ok running 100%?

I'm seriously considering the fact that my eyes will die if i continue with this 32" lol
