Hi all, I am looking to build a new system for Xmas, and I have been having a look at the OCUK I5 overclocked bundle for £419 on offer, around £459 normal. The I5 looks like a nice system build, but also read about the i7 with HT for around £50 more. My use for the system will be as follows, so I think an I5 would do me fine and no need really for HT:

Gaming
surfing net and stuff
extracting RAR files like demos, downloads and maps of L4D
editing some photos in photoshop and using quark or office
and general tasks, nothing really heavy or video encoding on large scale.

Now for some advice if someone could help me out, it would be great. Also I am looking at a GFX card, and was thinking either an 275 GTX or one of the ATI 5700 series cards. what do u think??? Also would my 550W Be quiet 4 12v rails be enough for the system, as this CPU is rock steady at the moment on my rig system. Thanks in advance.

I would say I5 would be more than enough, as would a AMD build tbh. AMD would be cheaper but would be a tad slower. As for the GPU i would go for ATI as they are DX11 and can bitstrseam audio now i think. Basically just better/newer tech although NVidia may bounce back with their new GPUs.

Thanks for the advice, that is much appreciated. The ATI does sound the better option and also the price for those part is a good saving leaving a bit of money left over as after the offer period it goes up to £459. And I think shipping is free as I am a member and have ordered before on the free shipping. Thanks again for the great advice.
