Been looking at the HP PAVILION 690-0040NA - 7EC02EA and was wondering if this has any HDMI ports at the rear? I don't fancy connecting my monitor and and having a wire coming round the front.

Also, has this got any free ports to add some more RAM?

Any help appreciated.

The specs state it comes with a 1660, so it will have HDMI at the rear.

How much is that going to set you back out of interest? The specs are pretty poor, so unless it's dirt cheap I'd be looking elsewhere.

If I Google that exact model it comes up at another well known retailer straight away. So it's £750 for an i5-9400F, 8GB RAM (2666MHz), 256GB NVMe, 2TB HDD and 1660 GPU.

So yeah it'll likely have an HDMI out on the GPU. Infact the spec sheet says it does lol. Not sure why you'd ever have cables coming round the front though, who fits display outputs on the front of a PC? :D

No idea on the free RAM slots, the specs don't state anywhere what mobo make/model it comes with. If it's mATX then it might not as typically only have 2 slots, if it's ATX then they usually have 4 memory slots.

Worth the money?

Found this so doesn't look likely:

Expansion Slots - 1 PCIe x1; 1 PCIe x16; 1 M.2

More than £700 but less that £800.

Ouch... I wouldn't spend my money on that personally.

It really isn't.

If you built your own you could get something along these lines:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £750.85 (includes shipping: £0.00)

It absolutely blows what you're looking at out of the water.

The only thing this spec is lacking really is storage space, but you can pop in a 2TB HDD for £50-60 from OCUK easily enough whenever you feel the need.

HP desktops tend to have bespoke sized motherboards and also low powered PSUs but if it has a 1660 then it should be ok.

I'm sure you could build a better rig from individual parts of your choosing.

edit:- see spec provided above by Gray

You could get the price down even more on Gray's build by getting a non-modular PSU, 2.5" SSD and ever so slightly cheaper case.

But yeah it would cream that HP pre-built. :p
