Gone with the assumption that you will be primarily gaming as most people do. However if I am wrong, then you could look at the hexcore AMD chips if you wish, not that the 955 (or 965 for that matter) are bad chips.

you can drop the ssd for now as ive heard they are coming down on price soon.
id would go for the i5 build without ssd then up the gpu to a gtx470 and change the psu to the XFX 650w modular psu for £4 more

edit* the GX series psu are supposedly pants

Thxs for spec guys. I like the tower i had orginaly (Antec 900 Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black) does this effect the setup you guys suggested?.

Also i like nivida to ati so if theres better graphics card then i suggested thats not to much more then the one i specified that would be aswesome.

thxs, Sam

You'd be pushing it with SLI 470s at a later date with a 650W PSU. But I'd always say just get what you need now and if you ever SLI later upgrade the PSU then.

the amd and i5 spec cant do sli hence i picked the 650w
the i7 can do sli hence i picked the 750w

Oh - thought the rigs were sort of 'everything else being equal' so thought you'd have an sli mobo in the i5 build like the UD4. Didn't look close enough:o

lol yeah for the amd and i5 build i just swapped the mobo and cpu then for i7 i swapped the psu, mobo, ram, cpu.
i only did this because i dont know his budget so i didnt use the method of "can you do better with this budget?" :D

thxs for all the input. i probelly go for i5 build. with i5 build can i upgrade it to the 6GB ram? patriot viper 6gb?.

Sam.

This doesn't make sense to me

Spending a little bit extra now will save you the cost of a whole PSU when you SLI ...

and why recommending XFX PSUs ??? I read the reviews and I wouldn't buy one
