Looking for 17inch + 1920x1200 or 1080

Looking for a new laptop for development work, and really need the screen real estate.
Finding it hard to find suitable laptops.. there not the easiest things to search for lol.

Not so worried about graphics or other features, something better than embedded intel nonsense would be great, ie my current one only has a 7600GO and that's fine.

Also need 4gb or 6? do any ddr3 laptops come with 6gb?

CPU wise C2D's above 2.5g would be fine.

Any ideas?

Have you looked at the Dell Studio 17 ?

From my own similar research, the Dell Vostro 1710 matches your requirements except for being supplied with more than 4GB RAM. Most laptops are still DDR2 and the price of more than 4GB in DDR3 is frightening - have a look at the Dell Precision range but make sure you're sitting down. The Studio seems to work out a bit more expensive than the Vostro for the same spec.

I have a Dell 1720 2.2 4GB RAM 17 inch 1920x1200

Cant see the point going to higher then 2.2
