Hi guys :)

From my very short experience with wide Asus 19" TN panel I'd like to buy something better. Response time doesnt matter that much, but would like to play HL2 w/o noticable ghosting.

Well only concern about TN is pour colors, but maybe its just that particular monitor - two 19" on work looks nice, but I never used them for games. Maybe new 20" are a lot better in that field and its not really worth to spend so much money on PVA?

btw I'm looking for something cheap, so Samsung 206BW and NEC 20WG2 are out of the question :D

Thank you for your advice

Belinea did (and probably still do) a 20" widescreen which was MVA. Anyway, Dell 2007WFP is the obvious candidate if you don't want to spend the extra £70 for the NEC.

You won't get a non-TN panel cheap though, not in a 20" widescreen, they start around £250. If you don't have enough for the SM206BW (which is TN) at £211 then there's nothing that fits your criteria. Everything under that price is TN.

agree with what Fish has said. Dell 2007WFP would be a good bet, as would the Belinea 102035W / 102030W or the Viewsonic VX2025WM

The Belinea 102035W is the exception here, if it still uses MVA techology; it's under £180 at OcUK.

Ah, I was wrong then, you can get a non-TN 20" widescreen for less than £200. Wow, that's come down a lot, and according to the Belinea UK page it still uses the MVA panel.

Makes you wonder why people are buying the SM206BW when there's a better panel available for less.

probably build quality, reputation, branding etc i would think. The Belinea is nice though, but doesn't match the styling of the Samsung and has had some issues with build quality (backlight bleed being an issue in some cases). Still a good choice for a non-TN panel :)
