To go with my new gaming rig I'd like a very good 24" monitor to go with it. I know this gets asked all the time but I want to be sure...

I'm currently using a 19" Viewsonic VX922 (2ms) monitor and I've been really happy with it, but I'd like something a bit bigger with a higher res but keeping the no ghosting etc that I'm used to on the Viewsonic.

From what I can see the choices would be :

Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP-HC 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Midnight Grey
Hyundai W241D-PVA 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black
Samsung SM-245B 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black

or, don't know much about this one :

Samsung SM-245T 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black

The Dell looks really nice and would be my first choice, but as I said before it will be used mainly for games, I'm really fussy and ghosting would drive me mad I'm sure.

Failing this above I would look at a 22" if it's a better choice for games.

Either way I'm looking for a noticeable upgrade from my current monitor.

Thanks

The OCUK 24" is the one of the best bargains around right now.

You can see the pics i took of the monitor on Page 61 of the thread. They're not really showing off how awesome this monitor is though.

The office above ours (at work obviously) is filled with Dell monitors (huge successful company) and this screen easily compares with the Dell's at a fraction of the price (friend works there, been round the office many a time). The only thing you have to contend with is the lack of adjustability and the basic stand, but by all means if the screen is the most important factor you'll love it.

I'm not sure if everyone is getting the same, but mine came without any dead or stuck pixels and i have not experienced any of the niggles mentioned in the thread at all.

I can sit to the side of the screen, above it, below it (why you'd want to i don't know) and still be able to see whats happening on screen.

Games, not perfect (is there such a thing) but by any standards it is definately a great monitor, it plays better then any other screens i've used on the PC.

Cost me about the same as both my 19" screens did combined...... given the choice i know what i'd choose....

Only thing bothering me now is the vid card choking trying to run 1920 x 1200. :(

Thanks guys, I hadn't considered the OcUK one. It does look a bargain, but is there actually something better for more money.. I mean I'd rather pay more to get something that is better if there is... as the monitor is something you look at all the time and I am pretty fussy, lol

Loads of people have bougth the Dell HC recently and all say no ghosting problems. Also they have a no dead pixel warrenty thing. Other places unless you ahve like 6 or more dead pixels you cant send it back.
