This looks a good alternative to the Dell - £60 cheaper though the Dell definitely wins on looks, but that's not a significant issue for me. Pretty much eliminated everything else, seems to me these two are simply "newer" and offer a better experience.

No reason you cant run games at 1440 on a 4k display.. that's exactly what I do. Well My monitor is 1440p IPS 165hz, but my second display is a 4k 120hz OLED TV.

Wouldn'r that decrease IQ with the lack of pixel density compared to 1440 @ 27"?

If you really only want 2k rather than 4K aren’t there good options that are much cheaper than the 4K dell? Eg Dell G3223D

I’m in the market for the same thing 2k 144 hz.

27" 1440p is a very good experience.

I've already got 27" 1440p, I was just thinking to get more real estate at 32" but that doesn't seem worth invetsing in, 4K might be.
 
Yeah I think if you want a 4k screen you're better off getting a small 120hz OLED TV, like a 37".
But that's pretty damn big for a monitor as a daily driver.


For pc/gaming monitor purposes a 27 or 32" IPS at 1440p with good HDR and freesync Pro seems like a better prospect.. 120mhz or more

37" is too big for my desk, 32" is just about the limit, I could physically fit a 34" UW, but I think i'm sitting too close for that. 32" is the most I'm really comfortable with. I'm roughly 2ft from my screen when gaming.

I'd go for a good quality 27" screen then, 1440, IPS, high refresh, good HDR, freesyc etc.

I love my dell S2721DGF it's a superb screen for gaming but it doesn't look like they make that specific model any more, but they do make very simmilar ones.. I can't see me replacing it ever unless it breaks down. Its HDR capability (HDR400) is a bit limited, but I've honestly not found it to be an issue for gaming, and sometimes better, as I don't like to be blinded by the light when I walk out of a cave and into the sunlight.

I already have a very good (AD27QD) 27" (from 2019) high refresh IPS screen, but you weren't to know that unless you read the 1st post!

I was intially thinking of just getting a 32" IPS high refresh, but then I thought it doesn't seem worth the upgrade solely for more real estate, without a jump in tech, which is when I started thinking about a 32" 4K IPS. Which led me to the Dell and LG in post 6.

I think it's fair to say HDR is not worth considering unless you're going really high end, so either 400 or 600 is pretty meaningless, far more important factors.
