My Dad's asked me to look into a printer for him, but I have no idea to what's decent, and what isn't. He's wanting a reasonably heavy duty A4 Laser colour printer that can print:

  • At least 16ppm
  • Good value per page/maintenance contract
  • Duplex
  • Tray that holds at least 200pages, and less important, can accommodate heavy paper (160-200gsm..)

It's for office work, although just him using it, but good colours would be nice.

Any ideas? Budget is £400 to £1000

thanks :)

The printer we put out at work that matches that spec would be the HP 2605dn, can be picked up for £250-300. Does 12ppm (10 Colour), 250 Sheet tray, duplex, should be good value. Nice printers, save you a bundle of cash too.

Just noticed you said 16ppm, back to the drawing board....

Might as well be the next model up then, the 3600 (17ppm)

Hey thanks, had a look at some of those, especially the HPs, but reviews of their graphics print was a bit iffy so ended up with a Konica Minolta 5440. But thanks!
