Hi everyone,

I'm looking to start buying pieces for my first-ever PC build (my current is a prebuilt).

I'm not sure sure if I will be going 7700K or 6900 yet but will be running a 1080ti that's for sure - everything with be OC'd eventually.

I want to use a Platinum PSU to power all of this. I know that 750w will be more than enough power but I want a PSU that will be able to take it all in its stride operating at around its maximum peak efficiency rather than say a 550w running its nuts off at full pelt.

I am looking at the EVGA P2 range as I like the idea of the 10-year warranty but I would also like recommendations on other Platinum PSUs.

Thanks very much in advance.

The Superflower Leadex Platinum 650w is a cracking psu and is on offer at the moment for £95. You won't get better value for money than that. It's the series that the EVGA Supernova P2 range is based on. The downside is the bright white leds where you plug the cables in that cannot be turned off. Not a issue if you have a case which has a compartment for the psu.

Even a 550w would be well within it's capabilities. I have yet to see my pc pull 300w at the wall even with the 1070 heavily overclocked while benching.

The Antec HCP850w Platinum will be on offer soon here ;) That is certainly future proofing, and one the BEST units made in the world. Delta Electronics make the HCP range for us, they are the best of the best.

Their main market lies with system critical server grade PSU manufacturing.
