Hi all
Go gentle on me first post and comp noob ,after long term suffering with my p4 2.4 and agp x1950 pro and 1 gig of ram enough was enough and ive decided to try to build a rig myself ,ive been picking up bits and pieces over a couple of months as well as tips and info from this here forum.
Its almost solely for gaming ,COD4 and MW2 when it appears ,i just wondered if you could cast your eyes over what ive allready got and recomend some ram ,GFX card and os allthough i was swaying for Windows 7 for some reason.
My list is so far

Asus Crosshair III Formula AMD 790FX (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard [90-MIB8V0-G0EAY00Z]

AMD Phenom II X3 Tri Core 720 Black Edition 2.80GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail [HDZ720WFGIBOX]

Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (WD6401AALS) [WD6401AALS]

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2) [AC-FRZ-64P]

Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK) [CMPSU-650TXUK]

Sony Optiarc AD-7240S 24x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM []

Antec 900 case

I was looking to spend around £150 to £180 on the card and also is it worthwhile getting 8 gig of ram instead of 4 gig .

Thanks in advance for all replys and hopefully it will be a bit quicker than my old coal burner .
P.s. i wont be overclocking it just yet because i aint got a clue:p

What you chose is solid. I would go W7 and install the 64bit version ofc, G.Skill Ripjaw seems to the flavour of the month when it comes to RAM, you won't notice any difference between 4GB and 8GB, If i was you i would try and stretch the extra £20 and get a ATi 5850 based card.

Cheers Diablo ,i appreciate youre reply and will try to strech the budget to a 5850 card !
Can you give any advice on a particular Ripjaw Ram for my system ,soz to sound so muppety but the ram bit i find hard to decipher with all the latency bits ,really aint got a clue what that means or if it will goose my system allthough the board says it has mem OK button.
Cheers Lex
