Hello,

I'm looking for a camera of pretty much any kind (compact, bridge, camcorder, don't care) to record video.

We'll be recording wakeboarding from the side of a lake either with a person filming or by tripod, and my only requirements really are:

720p or 1080p video of the best quality I can get for the money
sub £100
Reasonable level of optical zoom - it'll be pointed at stuff that's up to about maybe 30 metres away tops so as long as it can do that it's fine.

1080p isn't 100% necessary, it's more about decent quality really. 720p is fine.

IF there is a waterproof camcorder that fits the bill that would be great but I don't think any of the little waterproof cams will have the zoom I want at this sort of budget. (budget's low because it'll end up being left at the side of a lake quite often and I don't want to be £300 out of pocket if someone walks off with it!)

I'm not really concerned with photograph quality, or the bulk of the camera - it's just for this one purpose really.

Any pointers would be great.

Thanks :)

Edit: Happy with second hand!

Are these little 720p/1080p waterproof handheld jobbies worth looking at?

There are some between £50-150 and we are able to go in the water and film from there - but are they any good at all?
