I'm looking for a Digital camera around the £200 mark...

Don't really have any requirements other than the fact I don't really want a "home" camera... i.e. want some optical zoom.

Like fuji's, e.g. E900...

Anyone any ideas?

Fuji's are good, maybe try the F30 if you can get it for your budget.

Also look at Nikon, Panasonic and Canon. Try to stick to a reaonably-well established brand-name.

The Fuji S5600 Digital Camera has some good reviews and its on sale at £149.99 over the bank holiday from a retail park near you :)

fuji F30, cheapest i have seen is £230. supposed to be the leader in its class and superb high iso performance!

Have you checked out other manufacturers models?

I like my Canon PowerShot S80 camera. I have taken some really good photos with that on my last two trips. Its very well made, decent auto and manual features, has a nice wide zoom - isn't amazing in low light but it does the job.

Was going to buy the F30 for my girlfriend since it's a no thrills straight point and shoot that seems to be good for low light but not particularly great for bright light (so I hear anyway). The Canon Ixus 60 is also worth a look - cheap, small, and seems to take great photos.

The 5600 looks to me like a half baked SLR although the impressive zoom looks interesting. It will obviously be a fair bit heavier/bulkier than the other cameras too, which is ok if you can live with it.

If you want zoom then you are going to have to go with the bigger cameras because the compacts all have standard 3-4x optical zooms.

Fuji F30 or Canon A70 which everone suits your needs although the A700 is only £180.

Edit:Can I just say I've now seen the E900 for £180 now I can't decide between the A700, F11 or E900!

From what I can see the E900 has a worse macro focus range compared to the A700, apart from that can't see much difference bar the etra mega pixels and the RAW functionality.
