Someone at work asked me to find a good carpet cleaner, however, I know nothing about them. I know that Vax make carpet cleaners but I've no idea how well those work? While I'm not looking for a professional machine that costs £££s I am looking for something that can get deep stains out. Any help appreciated so thanks in advance.

My mum has one of these ones. I have borrowed it and used it myself. Works really well, carpet is a little damp afterwards (not surprising really) but dries out very quickly. Lifts out dirt and cleans up spills well.
