my xperia xz2 is on the way out so i need a new phone.

uses will mainly be texting, browsing, youtube, podcasts and tethering.

ideally id like something waterproof.

looking for suggestions

thanks.

How cheap is cheap? Around how much are you willing to spend? SIM free or contract? The XZ2 was a pretty powerful phone so a lot of cheap phones will be a downgrade.

the sony is a nice phone, didnt last very long though! but its way beyond what i need. im looking for a sim free phone. all i need is something basic.

Cheap £50 cheap £200 cheap £400? All are cheap

Big or small?

If you are like me cheap is £400 and bigger is better..

Samsung a71 /a72

I could spend £1k on a phone if I wanted I watched hours of comparisons cannot justify anything more expensive.. Next year snapgragon might make me spend more

cheap as in the minimum amount possible. i quite like the size of the xperia. think its about 5 inches?

really would like waterproofing. have dropped a couple of phones down the swanny.

Thanks for the suggestion but the Nokia XR20 is way more than I'm wanting to pay.

If going the poco route it's probably best to wait for the poco x4 since it should be released early next year and the x3 is no longer on offer.

the pocco is looking like the best choice so far. i shall keep an eye out on the ukdeals site. hopefully something will turn up.
thanks for all the help fellas.

Depending on what you want from it the Oppo A5 can still be found (~£100) and is a pretty solid phone for the money - not going to set the world on fire but does the job with only some minor compromises in performance.
