Looking for a kitchen cooker with specific requirements... need help!

Howdy doody people,

i'll cut to the chase - im in need of a new cooker with the following specs:
- has to be gas
- has to have width-depth dimensions of 60cmx60cm
- must have a double oven
- cant be over £500
- cant have a top lid
- cant be cheap looking, must have some style

can anyone help or point me in the right direction as to where to look online? i tried a few kitchenware shops over the weekend and to be honest there wasnt much choice in that area with the above specification. i need to make a decision by the weekend as its holding up a move in!

thanks in advance guys (and gals!)

Try ******/*****.

dont think you can mention those here but they were the first places i looked. in all i think they only had 3 cookers that were 60x60 and all had lids :-/

The issue with the lid is that the units get in the way so doesnt allow it to open properly

Seem to be quite reasonable(get nectar points too) :D

thanks for that, having a ganders at it now... shame they dont tell you about details like if the knobs are plastic etc. muchbetter choice though so... thumbs up :)

i tried john lewis Dolph but they didnt really have much choice with the specs i'm looking for. do most people go for electic these days?!

Biasco

Best. Supplier. Ever.

They are consistently the cheapest I can find, and their range is rinkydiculous.

now thats what im talkin' about! :D

does anyone know if the cookers that have lids on them, are they detachable (easily) ? can they be removed and you not know whether they had them on or not in the first place? I definitely like the look of the stainless steel ones by electrolux and zanussi but they all have lids :(

I always find that buying appliances is a touchy feely experience. I tend to go to the shops and decide which brand / model I want and then order it on line for the cheepest price. froogle is usually pretty good at finding the cheapest supplier for a specific model

Ended up buying the Electrolux EKG6047XN

....for £518 from The Appliance Warehouse (bargain!)

the only niggle is that although the knobs look as though theyre made from metal... theyre actually plastic - gargh!
