Got a Gainward Geforce 6800GT GS AGP.

As owners of Gainward's GS cards will know, these come with RAM copper sinks, and 2x non-standard fans which are mounted on a 'bracket' which is then screwed on the card.

At Desktop, with fan speed at 55%, my temperatures are: CPU 48.250c, PCB 33.125c. Pretty decent if you ask me.

The fans are like hurricanes when they are at 100%. IIRC, 3D temperatures for the CPU hit 57c - nothing to cause me concern.

The problem is, the fans are getting rattly so I'm looking for a replacement soloution.

So I want a cooler which can cool the card down to the same temperatures as my current stock cooler. If I get lower temperatures, that's a bonus in my eyes.

Noise isn't too much of an issue - I've been hardened-up by the stock cooler. :D It'd be nice to have something quieter or of the same noise level - any louder, and I'll be humming and harring.

Not going to set a budget for the cooler. As long it's reasonable for the price, I don't mind. If there are any better which OcUK don't stock, name the item but (obviously) not the store.

Cheers! :D

Did it lower the temperatures further?
Can you adjust the fan speed from Windows?
Did you have to remove the RAM sinks?

So many questions, lol. :o

zalman VF700, VF900 and fatal1ty GPU coolers are all brilliant but cost a fair bit more than the arctic coolers, look better though

The VF9000 looks good, but was wondering if there was much between the 7000 and the 9000.

theres proberbly a few degrees in it between the three, but the two highest performing i believe at the FS-V7 'Fatal1ty' and the VF900, concequently the 900 is a small price hike over the 700 and the FS-V7 is almost £30 so its the most expensive of them all

Yeah, I'd recomend the zalman coolers... they're very quiet and look awesome.
not to mention they're rather cool... and you've the option of replacing the ramsinks if you want to, though thats up to you.
