I'm wanting to set up our top room as a playroom for the kids but at the same time I'd like to be able to keep an eye on them from downstairs and so I'm in the market for a webcam/IP camera(?) that will link into my network and allow me to view through my Android smartphone.

I did a bit of Googling and saw the Vimtag P1 camera that seems to fit the bill (you can even move it remotely if you needed to!) - has anyone got any experience of this camera or have any other recommendations?

I don't want to be spending a fortune (maybe £100 max) and it would be nice to be able to view it while away from the home too!

Thanks for any suggestions....

I have a Nest cam.

Quality is very good, connects via wireless and just needs a single cable (USB style) to go to power.

Nest app for andriod works well, can turn off notifications etc.

Roughly £150 though.

I did read about the Nest stuff but I thought you were pretty much forced into some sort of monthly subscription for cloud based recordings?? (I could be mistaken though!)

Does it let you just stream to your phone without the subscription service? (also, can you move the camera or is it static?)

Thanks for the suggestion - the Smartcam Pro looks to be a nice piece of kit - although from the looks of it there isn't any panning or tilting within the cam - is that correct?
