Sick of Fraps halfing my FPS and producing like 10GB videos for every 1 min of recording. Looking for something that doesn't hurt FPS and doesnt make massive files. But still record in 1080p.

Dxtroy with the lagarith codec
I use this when fraps is having problems with a game

Also are u using AA in games because fraps hates that in some games

I used Shadowplay for a game play video I did which lasted about 5 minutes or so. At 1080p the file size was about 1.5GB ish.

Stoner81.

Dxtory is very good, though I seem to get frame rate drops with it when recording - but when uploaded to YouTube, my file plays fine at 60fps. I may have it set up not quite right, though.

Mirillis Action is another I like.

D3D Gear is also good.

ShadowPlay is a very good way to keep great performance while you record, resulting in reasonable quality - though not as good as some others in that department, imo. However, as I'm sure you already know, you'll need an Nvidia card for that to function.

AMD's Raptr is also reasonable, though I didn't find it as reliable as most of the others already mentioned.

if you want top end quality fraps/dxtory are great yes i seen you use fraps already :p

thing is any application that gets you the best quality is going to have sizable files. hard drives are cheap. so just get a decent hard drive 2 tb or more.

shadowplay is not bad.

If you want proper lossless quality then your files are going to be large.

If you don't mind not having 100% picture perfect quality then i personally feel shadowplay gets the job done best with nice file sizes and good quality.
