Hello everyone / anyone,

I am an architecture student looking to buy a full system (Tower not Laptop) from overclockers.

But i can't decide and don't know enough to make informed decisions about what to buy using the system configurator.

So, in the hope of getting some current and specialist advice, here is the software i am intending to use;

Adobe Premier
Adobe After Effects
(full Adobe suite actually)
Rhino
Autocad
Microstation
3D Studio Max
Cinema 4D
Various applicable rendering software

If anyone can suggest appropriate hardware it would be much appreciated.
Hoping to spend between 600 and 700 pounds, before monitors, keyboards etc.

Thankyou

Well, with your requirements it will be a bit hard to spec a system for 600-700£, unless I am mistaken. Closer to 1000 most likely.
I have 3D SM and it needs around 8 gb space on system drive. so you will need a 120gb SSD there. Other than that you could use a real pro gpu and solid amount of ram, plus ofcourse a CPU - I'd go for Intel when it comes to efficiency but again they are more expensive. While ram isn't a problem, because you can buy 8/16 gb fairly cheap, gpu like NVS Quadro or AMD FirePro cost over 100£ for cheapest models.
Not sure what other GPUs you could use for rendering software.

Maybe someone who uses PC for same thing you do will be able to spec you a system.

Thanks for the advice.
It's a tough decision because it's quite speculative. I don't actually create renders that often and i'm most likely to be using the adobe suite followed by autocad/microstation/rhino......would you recommend something less powerful and future-proof in order to learn about the computer itself or a one off investment now?
