Looking for a full tower case between £100 and £130

Hi,

I am looking to purchase a full tower case for around £100-£130. I know theese "what is best" threads are often a hot debate, so here is the current spec.

I am currently running a crossfire 6850 setup and have an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX with Antec H20 cooler on a 1090T CPU with a 750W modular PSU.

Additionally I have 4 HDD's (one SSD) so need something spacious with good cable management and very good airflow as the MSI 6850's have a habit of blowing hot air around my current chassis as opposed to exhausting the heat.

Thanks for any assistance,
Chris.

Corsair 650D isn't designed for extreme air cooling either - which is presumably what you need. It also doesn't have the water cooling potential to cool CPU and xFire if you wanted to go down that path...

Strom Trooper above isn't bad, but for air cooling, save a bit and get the Silverstone RV03.

It's an absolutely amazing case for the price.

The above shows a comparison between the CM-Storm-Trooper and the RV03 (and others). As you can see, for GPU cooling, they're about the same, but for CPU cooling the RV03 blows the Storm Trooper out of the water.

It's also a pretty nice amount of money saved :) (a good £20 less).

^600t is a mid tower

I'm inclined to agree with the cm storm simply because I saw lisa kaye 'overviewing' it in the video in the link posted.

Damn, looks good. Case is butt ugly though.

You have to ask yourself: Does she persuade you?

The 600t and 650D are mid towers, but damn good cases either way.

What about the shinobi XL:

Full tower, LOADS of room! IIRC 35mm of space between the back of the motherboard tray and the side panel, which is a lot.

Great cable management, got plenty of holes with rubber grommets and cable ties supplied for the loops on the cable management side
2x230mm fans, top and front
1x120mm rear fan
Lots of hard drive slots

i know its a mid tower, but still offers loads of space...

wat about the shinobi XL?

HAF X is a good choice, it's just out of budget...

I'd still maintain that the Raven is the better choice.

Silverstone FT02 would be the best choice for air cooled, but is out of budget.

If you're watercooling, that's a different question. In your price range it's probably, Phantom/Elysium(?)/HAF X, again having to stretch a bit.

Have to disagree about the 650d not having the water cooling potential as mine is now on water cooling a amd 975 and a pair of 6970 and running fine.

I agree its not the best at air cooling though.

I guess you can put a 240+200 in it which would be enough... but I feel that'd be 'cramping' the case slightly...

Stormtrooper is pretty.

TBH I've got a HAF 922 mid tower, I can't really see a need for anything bigger, the HAF X is massive, I don't see how anyone could fill one with any amount of hardware

at the moment: antec p 182.

desire: bigger, quieti, space, nice/likeable.

options so far:

BITFENIX SHINOBI XL - late march 140-150€
FRACTAL DESIGN XL - 140€
NZXT 810 - 180€ expensive
CORSAIR 650D 160€...

is there anything else in the market to 130Ł/150€? No gamers ugly ones please :)

kemetec: Ive just been through this whole debate.

I had a budget of upto 140. started out looking at the Shinobi midi and various coolermaster midis etc and then started getting very interested in the full towers.

For ages i was debating over the Shinobi XL vs several other towers and really wanted the Shinobi but its availability date and my impatience led me to do some more reading. I managed to read several reviews with the HAF-X without really reading them if you know what I mean. Shinobi XL just had my eye.

Now Ive spent a lot of time reading about the HAF-X and for the price (135 at OCUK) it seems a very good case (i intend to do some air cooling OC's). Marry to that the fact that the Shinobi XL is at the moment untested and may not cool as well as we would like...(equally it may be amazing - thats the gamble)

Well my mind is made up. i love the rugged look of the HAF-X, without it being crazy looking like the Raven is!

YMMV
