Just bought myself a G27 and it's amazing on F1 2010- However I'm looking for more of a sim.

I can't play iRacing because my net sucks.

Can anyone suggest any decent sims for me with lot's of fun tracks and a nice variation in cars.

I don't mind modding (if you can suggest some good ones!)

Cheers.

GTR2 is a good call, theres so many mods for this its unreal. The Race on series (I have GTR evolution expansion which is brilliant. rFactor is another that has thousands of mods. Richard Burns rally for some off road action. GT Legends has a good selection of older cars from 60's and 70's.

There a lot to get stuck into. And the good thing is you can pick a lot of these sims up for £5 from various places online

EDit: Also I should mention GT legends is a pain to get running on Windows 7

id steer clear of GTL if you have W7 its a nightmare.

gtr2
rfactor
race07+exps
heard some good things about dirt3 but i have not played it myself

you could probably get all the simbin stuff (gtr2 and race07+exps) for the same money as rfactor

also the tracks are much better in the simbin game. in rfactor some tracks feel like your racing on a mirror its so smooth imo.

Actually just remembered reading about this recently.

"The digital version of GT-Legends has been updated to work with Windows Vista and Windows 7.
This refreshed GT-Legends game can be yours for free if you still own the original hard copy, simply follow the directions below.
It is time to rekindle the spirit of gasoline and burnt rubber. You'll need steel nerves and raw talent to be a champion!"

I do own a retail box but I ended up downloading the game from a torrent because of the Windows 7 issue. Only time I would download a game illegally. Now I can have get it legit :)

It is awesome once you fix the odd feeling force feedback.

Just downloaded the demo for Rfactor. It seems grat but my wheel keeps locking to the right or left so i'm constantly fighting the wheel - any ideas?

If you can't play iracing i would suggest Netkar pro or LFS those are the next 2 best sims.

RAce 07/Rfactor are also pretty good but i found a lot of tweaking was required to get it to handle correctly.

Would also highly reccomend richard burns rally if you like rally games.

I seemed to spend more time downloading/tweaking mods for rFactor than actual driving. Does get really annoying.

Forgot to mention Netkar, but I never could get the it looking acceptable on my setup. It needs AA badly but I turn it on and it has no effect in game.

Change the force feedback in the controller options to a negative number or vice-versa if it already is.

Also check out RaceConnect for a great online community that offers various online races away from the public server wreckers. There are loads of people there who will be able to answer any questions you may have about setting up your hardware and the games themselves.
