Hey Guys,

Im looking for a non OLED 43" Screen, 4k or 2560x1440p is good with me,

I was looking at the following:

iiyama G-MASTER Red Eagle G4380UHSU-B1

Samsung G70C 43"

Has anyone got one of the above, what are your thoughts on it?

The Samsung I can get at a really good price, how ever the ghosting on it concerns me.

Not sure why the iiyama G-Master is in bold lol, maybe its a sign!

Cheers

I've had the iiyama one for a couple of years. The picture quality is great, good colour, nice blacks. Other than a couple of stuck pixels, which I have to look hard for, it's had zero issues. Also has a 3yr warranty which these days seems quite rare for a monitor.

For gaming it's good but it does have black smearing as expected being a va. Hdr is pretty weak too.

I used it with a ps5 too until I got an oled. It will do 1440p/120 on the ps5 but not 4k/120 since it only has hdmi 2.0 and vrr doesn't work with hdmi 2.0 on the ps5.

It comes with a remote which is handy for changing inputs / settings.

The speakers are pretty naff so I would use external speakers or a soundbar which I use via an optical connection to my pc.

I'm happy with the monitor for regular pc work and occasional gaming and watching videos but the Samsung would probably be a step up for gaming / hdr if you can live with its shortcomings.

Just checked out the Samsung website and that is a tempting price but it's only a 2 year warranty so that would put me off.

Thanks for that @49er

I ordered the Samsung Wednesday evening, arrived Thursday morning! For £460 I thought its worth a shot... and to be honest I love it.

For a non OLED screen the blacks are pretty good on it, and I'm loving working on the desktop with it.

Yes it has the typical VA panel slight ghosting, black smearing. But you soon look past that.

Thanks for the input though :)
