Hi, I've currently got a Cambridge Soundworks 4.1 system, but the volume levels keep changing by themselves. I know this is down to the potentiometer and I've had a go at cleaning it out, but it's still happening. I'm currently at uni which means I'm just using the front 2 speakers and the subwoofer, which means that my replacement speakers might as well be a 2.1 system to save money. I'm not wanting to spend more than about £40-50, and it would be useful if they had a headphone jack that wasn't on the volume control, although that is not essential.

I've had a look at some of the Logitech and Creative offerings, and am just looking for some input as to what the best in that price range is.

Thanks

First set of 2.1 I've ever had were the Logitech x-230. They still run fine back home. id try stretch a tiny bit to the Acoustic Energy Aego M. I know thy're rather steep. but thy're fantastic speakers. apart from that. Most Logitech and Creative 2.1 Offerings are good.

Aego M, every day of the week, every week of the year. Just buy them.

Or search for them on the forum...
There have been countless threads on here which end up with people telling the op to "JUST BUY THE AEGO's!!"

hehe true that! though i think i've found an even BETTER alternative to them.

Audioengine a5!

audioengine A5 are twice the price of the the AEGO's, A2 would be more comparable in cost and sound quality.

since OP said didint want to spend more than bout £50 suggesting a £200 set might not be that helpful
