Have a guess.
Hello. I am looking for a good 24" monitor, with reasonable number of connections...though...doesn't have to have everything...just more than one VGA port and preferably under £200. Any ideas?

Also, I tend to use my machine for web browsing, document creation and the odd bit of gaming mostly. Is it worth me going for a monitor with 16:10 ratio or 16:9? Will I miss the extra desktop space on the screen? I do watch movies too on the PC and though I would prefer the black borders not to be present I don't think I am that bothered about them. I have to put up with that now.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Difference between 24" 16:9 and 16:10 is not meerly desktop space. The 24" is native 1920x1200 and looks best in that way. 24" monitors that use 16:9 look a lot less crisp than a 16:10 due to the 1:1 pixel mapping not generally being present.

I would say spend a nice sum of money on a 24" and it will pay you back in pleasure whether it be watch movies / designing / gaming. Generally you're looking at £250+ for a 16:10 monitor, but it is well worth spending £400/500 if the monitor is of a particularly good standard (Dell U2410 - Once the panel issues are fixed...).

Also as an added note, in terms of connections for futureproofing, maybe be looking at a HDMI / Displayport / DVI-D combination.

Thanks for that my friend.
