Looking for a Good Free Wave Editor

What do you guys suggest for this? I heard about one call Audicity... is it any good?

For free, yes. It's not Adobe Audition though...

No idea what you are talking about, but I think the correct spelling of this thing is Audacity. Maybe.

I've got Windows XP with Service Pack 2, and all the current updates. I've downloaded Audacity and installed it... however, when I try to double click into it, nothing happens.

The installation was completed sucessfully, and I have tried clicking on the desktop icon, the start menu 'programs' icon, and from within the program files themselves... but all to no avail.

Any suggestions.

After stumping the mighty OCuk forum, looks like I'm off to Audacity's forum for a solution to this rather strange situation!

Either that, or start using Nero 6 for my Wave editing needs!

Weird.
My mate has exactly the same problem with Soundforge Wav Editor.
If he opens Microsoft Outlook then he can't open Soundforge so he reboots his PC and makes sure Soundforge is the first thing he opens.
