I have A MX518 gaming mouse which I need to replace at some time as the feet pads have almost completely worn down and the left click is getting spongy. I wish to replace it with a G5 which has many improvements, but retains the same shape. I will require a decent mouse pad to accompany it as my current SteelPad 4D Plastic Mouse Pad that I am using is part to blame for the wear of the mouse feet due to its textured service. Something also appears to have gone a bit wierd with the plastic in that it has become slightly sticky even though it is clean.

Is there a good mat that is recommended, but does not cost silly money as I have seen some that cost almost as much as the mouse?

Yeah the DeathAdder looks good, but I would like the weight adjustments and the braided cord of the G5 as I find my current mouse to light and the standard type cord is too stiff. While gaming I change sensitivity on the fly all the time which would mean that I would loose the 2 side buttons on the DeathAdder due to them having to be assigned for this function.

I have the G5, and it's lovely, I'm in fact using it on the exact mousepad that was linked, on the fast side it's really smooth and easy to use, nice and accurate too! Would definately recommend the combination

i have a razer diamondback + exactmat+rest and its a great combo . i dont tend to use the control side. but the speed side is brill. though my mouse feet are also worn down a lot :(
