Okay, I currently looking for a house to buy in my area now that I have sold the house where I used to live down in kent.

I spent a saturday about a month back signing up with the estate agents in town which I have received some instructions back from.

Now I know about rightmove and how it works, but are there other rightmove style sites that are worth visiting/signing up with or should rightmove be enough? Using the agents listing on rightmove pretty much displays all of the agents in Reading, so in theory all of the properties that are for sale should be listed on there.

Correct or Incorrect?

Cheers

right move is your best bet, we use others here as well, but most leads come from rightmove.
propertyfinder is ok, but seems to be out of date a lot of the time

It depends which site the agent has a "deal" with. Our agent uses rightmove primarily and the rest of the sites just copy that so it gets outdated. Other agents may use Primelocation, propertyfinder etc.

To be honest, if the agent is any good, and you've given them precise details on the type of house you want, they should ring you when something that meets your criteria comes up. They do tend to prioritise people who have their mortgages in place, want to move really quickly instead of just whenever etc. The fact that you have sold, have no chain means you should be quite high up their list, as long as you're showing a lot of interest in getting a house.
