My girlfriend wants to get a laptop, but I'm not too sure what to suggest. The only real requirements are that it must be able to run the sims 2 and sid meirs' pirates very well. Would also be nice if it had onboard wireless capability. Any suggestions? I'm not too familiar with the graphics cards in laptops. Thx.

hmmm to run sims 2 well its quite a demanding game! would need something like a 6800GTO in it.

that should run it assuming the X1600 performance is anywhere near that of the 7600.

I would highly recommend the Asus' at the moment. I have had Acers, Sonys, Tosh's and Dells in the past and to be honest with a 2 year warranty, carry bag and notebook mouse as standard on most models they are hard to beat.

The build quality is good and the keyboard is firm with a good feel to it, doesn't feel like the keys are going to flip off any minute. The only thing I find annoying is the double catch' on the lid are independant of each other so you need two hands to open the lid.
