I know I'm asking quite a few questions in a few threads at the moment so I do apologise.

I am looking to buy a good quality laptop and have got about £700 to spend.

What kind of spec should I be looking for?

I've see a Sony Vaio FW11E for £649 with a Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz, 3GB Ram, 250GB Hdd, 16.4" screen, ATI 4850.

Is this a good spec for the price?

I recommend you have a browse around. Get to know what is going to cost more. Obviously the newer lappy's with P8000 and T9000 are the faster, higher spec ones.
The above looks very nice for the price.

Just checked the spec of the laptop and the processor is a P8400 so is that a good one?

I have that lappy and yes that's a good up to date cpu, runs cool and quick. I think you will find the graphics is ATI HD 3470

the fw11's, imo, are very nice laptops. the 11E is bottom of the range though, id try to at least get the 11L or 11S with the bluray reader:)

I am also looking to purchase one of these, how is the 3470 for playing games like the Orange box or Trackmania?

I too am looking at this laptop so any experience from owners would be great.

it isnt, to keeo a long story short. if you want a gaming laptop, you're far better off with the likes of a dell or something similar with a better gpu. the 3470 is a basic gpu with HD video acelleration and nothing much else. i can play CSS on mine, but only with the detail on med/low
